LOS ANGELES, CA (June 2, 2012) – One of the country’s most talked about and respected skateboarders Stevie Williams, celebrated the collaboration of his skateboard lifestyle brand DGK which is now being sold at Macy’s. Yesterday he conducted a special autograph signing at The Beverly Center. The skateboard king welcomed fans with a VIP reception from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. complimented by a public Meet & Greet at 9 p.m. with his good friend and fellow entrepreneur Lil Wayne who also unveiled his TRUKFIT apparel line. The exclusive event took place on Friday, June 1 in the Macy’s Beverly Center Men’s Store located at 8500 Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles.
June 1st, marked the day that Stevie Williams’ apparel line DGK became available at select Macy’s stores across the country. The first 10 fans who purchased $150 worth of DGK and/or TRUKFIT apparel at Macy’s Beverly Center received a special skateboard from Stevie along with admission to the exclusive VIP reception. “It’s exciting to share this moment with my homie Lil Wayne and show the world skate fashion is cool,” boasts the celebrity skater.
Stevie Williams founded DGK in 2002 and named the acronym “Dirty Ghetto Kids” after his childhood skate crew. He built his brand based on the idea “From those who come from nothing,” inspired by the gritty, street skateboard culture. The fashion line features t-shirts, hats, fleece and a complete street wear collection, meshing Hip-Hop style with the urban skate lifestyle. Raised in the streets of Philadelphia, Stevie endured a stint of homelessness to become a professional skateboarder and highly acclaimed entrepreneur, earning respect among top athletes in the skater world, industry tastemakers and diehard fans. Both Stevie and Lil Wayne will continued their daytime retail successes with an exclusive red carpet night time celebratory affair at the world renown club, Drai’s in Hollywood.
