Where are you from?
I’m originally from the Bay Area but I was born in the Philippines.
If not LA, how big of an adjustment was it moving here?
Oh it was quite an adjustment — I didn’t have any friends and I really didn’t know anything much about Los Angeles. But, the one thing that kept me around was the fact that I am independent and as soon as I started working full-time, I knew I was set to stay.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I came from a very big family (I mean really BIG!) 6 brothers and 5 sisters, I’m the youngest of 12 and yes, we all came from the same mom and dad! Ha! I have 36 nieces and nephews, and what’s weird is that half of them are my age. I’m 5’8, pretty tall for a Filipino (I guess I got the height and the built from my Spanish side). I’m addicted to getting massages. I’m also one of those few who doesn’t like taking anything for minor aches and pains, so, I go to Courtyard Wellness to get my treatments. I can’t live without my Chiropractor. I’m also very lucky to have the most beautiful and smart 3 1/2 year-old boy, Chez. He keeps me motivated and grounded. Oh, do I love him!
Please tell us a little about your career and work.
I model part-time, but, I work full-time for one of the best Plastic Surgeons in LA, Dr. Gary Motykie in Beverly Hills. I’ve always wanted do something different, or should I say, get more involved in a practice that makes a difference. When people hear the word Plastic Surgery, they immediately think “Vanity”. In some cases, the answer is yes, but not everyone that walks into our office has that in mind — they have some sort of life experience that is totally out of their control and needs to be fixed. Best example would be cancer survivors, they just want to regain what they lost due to their battle. Another one would be major weight loss. As happy as they are losing the 200 lbs. of unwanted weight, they still don’t feel right having all those excess skin, so they come to us. Mommy makeovers, freakish accidents, etc., there are so many more things I can talk about. So, if it makes a difference in people’s lives, whether its “Vanity” or “Fixing the pre-existing problem”? Who cares? I’m up for it!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 yrs., my goal is to travel somewhere relaxing for 1 full year. I never travel! But my main plan is having my own business. Wait, I have so many ideas, I can’t decide just yet.
What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
Sunday and Monday Night Football. I’m a Miami Dolphin Fan! But I LOVE watching NBA and my LA Lakers! I’ve been a fan since I was 7 or 8 yrs. old. Remember, I have 6 brothers. So, I’m all about old school Lakers! I also love singing (karaoke style lol). I’ve been a Graphic Artist for a very long time and I design most of Dr. Motykie’s promotional/marketing projects which is always fun.
What do you look for in a guy?
My man, Drew! He’s awesome! He’s someone down to earth, smart, funny, responsible, a home body, laid back yet good at taking care of himself, a total Metro but, a great dad! I’ve always been attracted to the athletic type (let’s make this clear, doesn’t mean a pro athlete). I never got along with guys that have nothing good to say about women yet chase them everywhere. It’s always been a total turn-off.
What do you like the most about yourself?
I’m just happy with who I am and the small things that I have! I’m very thoughtful, and I like the fact that I’m a giver and not a taker.
What do you like least about yourself?
Being selfless! I find myself an easy prey, and I hate the fact that I can’t help being that way most of the time!
What is your favorite quote or motto to live life by?
I have a few; “Live each day as if it were your last” “What goes around comes around” and “Birds of the same feather; flock together.”
