For all of those people out there 25+ you remember the classic Bloodsport (1998) starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as ‘Frank Dux’ navigating an underground martial arts tournament in Hong Kong that culminates with JCVD fighting Bolo Yeung who played ‘Chong Li’. Above you can see Chong Li getting ready to square off in the final match of the ‘Kumite’, a tournament JCVD had been training his whole life to compete in. In the movie Frank Dux had taken a brief interlude from his time in the military to honor his sensei, Tanaka, and compete in the Kumite. I’m assuming 99.99% of you bros have seen Bloodsport, but for those of you that haven’t it’s the quintessential ‘good vs. evil’ story, where Frank Dux plays by the rules, and Chong Li (Bolo Yeung) cheats and fights dirty to get ahead.
According to brobible Bolo’s son David Yeung, who grew up to be an incredibly jacked bodybuilder, and who has a YouTube channel featuring all sorts of fitness videos.
Here they are together back when David Yeung was just a young boy, and his father Bolo was one of the biggest martial arts movie stars in the world:
